Take a CLOSER look

Embellishing with brads

march-web1

Using the THESE ARE THE DAYS Life Documented Kit, I worked on January and February of this year. I adore the stickers in this kit and still have some left to carry over into months ahead. It took a little bit of planning to make use of my NEED TO USE both sides of some of these cards, but it is indeed doable. At times I combined two smaller cards to fill a large pocket and other times a large pocket is filled with a photo only – no card needed. Of course I plan to add bits from my own supplies that I have collected over the years (yes my supplies could fill an entire shop I am sure), because there is no rules in this process.
January 2015 brought the Matthews family a New Puppy, a new Hair Cut, Family and Friends Time, Holidays and Trips Away….

Using the tag and a couple of stickers. Notice too that I use a photo to fill half this larger pocket with just a small card… taped at the back to hold exactly like I wanted it.

Use of tiny photos, stickers from the tiny letters set as well as the colourful stickers… on a large card making use of the title to create the “entry” into this layout.

The design inside the clear doilie sticker didn’t add anything to my designs… but one of the date stickers fits perfectly inside to make a new embellishment sticker.

February 2015 brought us Valentines Day, hot Summer Days playing in the sprayer, High School applications, Parties and many hours alongside the Cricket pitch.

Combining two smaller cards to fill the larger pocket… Notice too how I cut the “Friday” sticker to look like a little flag.

Using a black fine marker pen to doodle around your photo helps to add some charm and frame the photo.

Scan and save documents as a jpeg image and print as a photo to fit the pocket of your choice.

Using iPiccy, create a collage to capture some fun images from an event or simple fun moment like my boys enjoyed straight after school on a hot day. Love how wording can be added in the collage program directly onto your image.

Cannot wait for you to join us on this journey. It is far too exciting to miss out, I promise you will love it. Even have my fourteen year old taking a photo and saying “for you to Document mom”…. LOVE IT!
